Kangaroos in the Top Paddock is a self-contained secluded rammed earth cottage on 22 acres abutting the Grampians National Park. Named after a mob of local kangaroos that appear at dawn and dusk, the property has spectacular views of the Mount Difficult range. Designed as a retreat for busy adults, it sleeps up to four people comfortably, featuring Queen beds, each with full en-suite bathrooms, heating and mountain views. Cool in Summer and warm in Winter, the cottage is energy efficient and ecologically sound. It has a modern well-equipped kitchen with ceramic cook-top and electric oven, wood heater with stone chimney as a central focus. No detail has been spared in the stylish interior which features polished terra-cotta floors inlaid with river pebbles and tribal rugs. Heating and air conditioning, with large windows in every room, to observe at close range the many native animals and birds. There is a fine selection of quality music and films plus some great books, vine-clad front terrace with native garden and outdoor dining facilities and gorgeous views of the mountain range.
